Dear Hydesville Families,
We are very fortunate to have a school community where families feel comfortable and welcome on our campus. We value the relationships our families have with our staff and school, and we always want Hydesville to be a place where parents feel connected and involved.
With that in mind, we would like to share a friendly reminder about our morning drop-off routines.
Once students arrive at school in the morning, parents and guardians should say their goodbyes and allow students to begin their school day. We have recently had an increasing number of adults remaining on campus for extended periods of time in the cafeteria and on the playground. While we certainly understand wanting to visit and spend a few extra minutes with your child, having additional adults and younger children on campus throughout the morning can make student supervision more difficult and can interfere with our regular morning routines.
Our school breakfast program is provided for Hydesville students. We ask that parents, guardians, younger siblings, and other non-enrolled children not eat from the school breakfast program. Families are welcome to help younger students get settled when needed, but once your child is comfortable and ready for the day, please allow our staff to take it from there.
Similarly, during morning playground time, students should be supervised by school staff rather than continuing to play or visit with parents. Establishing a consistent drop-off routine helps students transition into the school day, connect with their classmates, and prepare for learning.
We absolutely want parents and families to be involved at Hydesville! If you enjoy spending time on campus and would like to be more involved, we encourage you to consider volunteering. There are many ways that family members can contribute to our classrooms, programs, activities, and school community in a way that is coordinated with staff and supports our students.
Our goal is not to make our campus feel less welcoming. In fact, it is just the opposite. We greatly appreciate having families who enjoy being part of our school community. At the same time, during the school day we need to maintain clear routines and ensure that our staff can appropriately supervise the students in our care.
Thank you for helping us keep our mornings safe, organized, and positive for everyone. We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support of Hydesville Elementary School.

HPG Morning Brew Coffee Drive-Thru TOMORROW!
Hydesville Parent Group is excited to have another parking lot drive-thru tomorrow morning before school! Please stop by and buy a coffee or donuts to support HPG!
Also, please be extra cautious in the parking lot, as we'll have parking spots blocked off with cones and parking monitors to help with the flow of traffic.

Please join us in the gym at 5:00pm for staff introductions. Classrooms will be open aftewards until 6:00pm. Free hot dog dinner provided by HPG from 5:30 - 6:30. Field behind the school will be open for additional parking.

A couple of reminders:
Our Hit-A-Thon is tomorrow! Second and third grade will be on a field trip tomorrow, so they are scheduled to participate on Friday instead. We will continue accepting pledge sheets through tomorrow morning.
Also, the yearbook deadline is tonight at midnight. Please make sure to get your student’s yearbook ordered so they will receive it during the last week of school and have time to collect signatures from friends and classmates.
Don't forget to order your yearbook! Orders need to be placed by May 14th so that your child can get their book the last week of school.
