5th grade

The 5th-grade girls entered this weekend's tournament and lost a back-and-forth heartbreaker in overtime 13-12 to Toddy Thomas in game 1 of the tournament, finishing the game with only 4 girls on the court after 3 girls fouled out and suffering their only loss of the season as a 5th-grade team. The girls bounced back the next two games and dominated Morris Red and Rio Dell, outscoring the two teams 41-10 to win consolation and a Banner for the school!

Standout leading scorer Emerson Byrd led the team with 38 points and was awarded All-Tourney offensive player for the Hydesville Wildcats team, while standout defender Bella Acuna helped shut down opponents and was awarded All-Tourney defensive player for the Hydesville Wildcats. This was a full team effort with Ellie Cook and Izzabella Trone on the post blocking shots and rebounding, to the full press trio of Avery Barry, Brooklyn Box, and Sophie Reyna-Sanchez wearing their opponents out with constant defensive stops and steals.

Overall, the girls finished 7-1 on the season as a 5th-grade team!
